Tidligere på måneden skrev vi kontrakt med VUC & HF Vestegnen om hovedentreprisen i forbindelse med opførelsen af et helt nyt voksenuddannelsescenter.

Den nye skolebygning kommer til at ligge på hjørnet af Egegårdsvej og Rådhusplænen, og udføres som et kubisk volumen på 2800 m² fordelt på 4 etager. Der bliver forberedt for en 5. etage, der i første omgang etableres som tagterrasse med trappe-/tekniktårne og et større ovenlysvindue. Bygningen skal desuden have et åbent atrium i midten, som går fra ovenlysvinduet og ned igennem de øvrige etager, hvor hver enkelt etage har åbne fællesarealer ud mod dette atrium.

De åbne facader i stueetagen giver et kig ind til livet inde i bygningen og skaber en sammenhæng med byens liv udenfor.

Byggeriet er lige nu under opstart og afsluttes i maj 2016. Entreprisesummen er 43,6 mio. kr.
